Greetings!

Dr. & Atty. Kimberly Morton Cuthrell is an attorney, doctoral-level clinical therapist, suspense author, researcher, and mediator. She has completed MD1 through MD5 in medical school with the future aspiration to combine her legal, medical, and clinical knowledge to provide an array of integrated quality services and write medico-legal books. She also has a quest to create new inroads in suspense novels with behavioral health twists to destigmatize perceptions.

Kimberly is a self-publishing consultant/mentor whereby she paved a landscape as a writing coach, ghostwriter, proofreader, professional editor, and beta reader. She is the founder/managing attorney of her law firm with a focus on state, federal, and international laws, including legal/ethical compliance oversight of research, grants, accreditation, and contracts. She is also the president/chief executive officer at her behavioral health agency where she ensures the highest quality of ethical, legal, and clinical content.

Kimberly’s interest to write evolved from reading books, writing grant and contract proposals for corporations and government sectors that were awarded, writing positions on proposed legislative bills, composing corporate compliance and policy/procedure manuals within provisions of state and federal laws, and developing behavioral health accreditation manuals whereby she secured a corporation’s Three-Year Accreditation three consecutive times.

Kimberly's writing skills advanced as she crafted her dissertation in her doctoral program. Her dissertation was published in an international scholarly journal and was recognized as the 'Most Read' research article within the first month on ResearchGate. In law school, she received the CALI Award for earning the highest grade in her legal writing class. Her writing skills continued to elevate in law school while competing in the Susie M. Sharp Intra-School Moot Court Competition in which she and her law school team member presented legal oral arguments and demonstrated legal advocacy skills, advancing to the octo-finals. Kimberly graduated from law school with pro bono honors. In medical school, her writing flourished when she served as the principal investigator/lead researcher of a research team, won third place in a medical school research competition, and the research was published in an international scholarly journal. She was a research mentor assistant, research II class teaching assistant (TA), and behavioral science class teaching assistant (TA) in medical school. She has guided several medical school students to finalize research projects to compete in research competitions in which some mentees ranked in the top three positions.

Kimberly has authored and co-authored numerous research articles that are published in scholarly journals. She has served as a writing coach and editor to assist students and professionals to publish research. Kimberly's research findings and dissertation content have been cited in several researchers' published articles, resulting in over 500 citations of her research.

In her fiction work, Kimberly draws from thought-provoking imaginary situations, the art of wisdom, and diverse viewpoints. Kimberly, a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, writes to intrigue readers’ minds about potential real-life situations and inspire them to advocate for positive change and make meaningful impacts in their communities.

When she is not writing, Kimberly can be found playing her favorite board game, mentoring individuals to pursue their greatest potential, and spending time with her family. She is from North Carolina but has lived in Maryland for several years.  She also spent many years residing in Portugal, Greece, Turkey, Saint Vincent Island, and Spain where she became proficient in Spanish before returning to the United States of America.  A lifelong learner, she enjoys promoting self-care, confidence, and wisdom in others.
